What is financial aid?

Financial aid is any grant, scholarship, or loan with the express purpose of helping a student meet their educational-related expenses. The majority of the funds available to students attending CSC Institute are provided through state and federally subsidized programs.

What are CSC Institute's policies on financial aid?

CSC Institute recognizes that many people interested in continuing their education are unable to meet the costs of tuition, fees, books, supplies and other educational-related expenses. The purpose of the Financial Aid Program at CSC Institute is to provide necessary assistance to students who would otherwise be unable to enroll or continue their education at CSC Institute.

What is financial need?

Most financial aid is awarded on the basis of financial need rather than academic achievement. The term "financial need" refers to the difference between what it will cost to attend CSC Institute and what the family and/or student are able to financially provide.

The exceptions are the Institutional Scholarships that CSC Institute award s at the start of each academic calendar year, and certain types of loan programs.

What financial aid programs are available at CSC Institute?

CSC Institute participates in a variety of financial aid programs including PELL GRANT, SEOG, STAFFORD LOANS, and PLUS LOANS. Before financial aid can be applied to tuition and fees, students must complete all required forms and establish their eligibility for the various aid programs. How do I apply for financial aid?

The candidate must meet with a Financial Aid Officer to complete all required forms and establish their eligibility for the various financial aid programs before financial aid can be applied to tuition and fees. A Financial Aid Officer will individually review each candidate's application and assist applicants in determining their eligibility for financial aid.
