Programs ESL Department

CSC Institute ESL Department is thoroughly committed
to helping non-native English speakers in our ethnically diverse
community to achieve their profesiional and educational goals through the improvement of oral and written
communication in English and familiarity with American culture.
This commitment is in line with the overall school mission
to identify and anticipate students' needs and to provide
opportunities for lifelong learning in a supportive environment,
responsive to the unique cultural and demographic diversity of
our changing community.
Many of CSC Institute instructors are binlingual and can occasionally
explain some topics using the student's native tongue.
In addition, ESL Department provides Computer Science and Business department
students, who are non-native speakers of English, with free Business English classes.
Our programs enable students to reach a level of competence
in English that allows them to succeed in their studies
as they pursue their goal of developing professional skills.
Our English as a Second Language Program is one of the most comprehensive programs
consisting of 750 hours of intense instruction. It is designed to improve verbal and written
English language skills for non-native speakers. When our educational specialists were designing this program, they fully realized that 'one-size-fits-all' program is not sufficient for ever-growing and demanding population to which needs we strive to respond. That is when
different levels of instruction were introduced first: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
