This course is intended for developers with some experience
building applications with Java. The 14-week course is a combination of lectures,
instructor-led demos, examples, and exercises, group
discussion and design sessions, and hands-on exercises.
Students will be introduced to the core J2EE APIs
and take your knowledge a step farther by understanding how each
one fits into the big picture. Each presentation and lab exercise
is designed to cover the essentials of the J2EE platform and
Enterprise Application development in general so that you walk
away from this course with a firm and equal foundation in each
of the covered topics.
Upon completion of the class students should be able to:
- operate IBM WebSphere 5.0
development environment
- design and implement service oriented architectures using EJB, SOAP, UDDI, WSDL and JNDI
- be proficient in designing EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) solutions using IBM Websphere MQSeries, Java Classes for MQSeries and JMS
- comprehend and address common security problems associated with authentication in client server applications, data security and identity management using JAAS, encryption and PKI solutions
- understand each J2EE technology including when one is more suitable than another
- determine how to use the J2EE technologies together as a suite
- develop enterprise level secure scalable applications and frameworks
