This program is designed to prepare students for a career
in computer programming. Upon successful completion of the course
the student should obtain the following skills:
- Design a relational database for a client/server
system using entity - relationship model and normalization.
- Formulate and test SQL queries, write
PL/SQL procedures, functions and packages.
- Create interactive web sites using HTML, JavaScript, and multimedia,
XML, XSL, VB.NET and ASP.NET.
- Utilize the aspects of Java language and
OOP concepts, GUI in the traditional Client/Server environment,
Database connectivity, I/O, Threading, Networking,
Ser
ialization, Server-side programming for
Web applications,
JDBC, Java Swing, Java Servlets, Java Applets,
Java Server Pages, and JavaBeans to their advantage.
- Write a resume, prepare for interviews,
and conduct a professional job search.
